This was a powerful read. As I read Asam Ahmad piece, I thought about how I react to situations. I will say that I have gotten a lot better, over time, with calling-in and calling-out. Before, I would jump the moment I heard or saw counterproductive conversations or actions. and give a piece of my mind Now, I know that is not helpful for either parties. I too was a part of the problem. No one was learning during these incidents that should have been teaching moments. I have been trying to be more mindful of both what I engage with and give my energy too. Calling-out can be extremely tiring especially when we do not get the response that we desire, but sometimes it is necessary. Calling-in is a good option as well when it is done in an effective manner.

Overall, this was a great read and an gentle reminder to check myself as I interact with people. It is okay to agree to disagree and/or to have productive conversations. Becoming disgruntled or upset hinders the opportunity for learning for everyone involved.
